Max Bezzel published the eight queens puzzle in 1848.
The eight queens puzzle is the problem of placing eight chess queens on an 8×8 chessboard so that no two queens threaten each other. Thus, a solution requires that no two queens share the same row, column, or diagonal.
If You succed in finding a solution it will look like the image with green color. The eight queens puzzle has 92 distinct solutions. 12 of them are called fundamental solutions, because the other solutions only differ by symmetry operations of rotation and reflection of the board.
